"Anne of Geierstein" is a novel written by Sir Walter Scott in 1829. Set in Central Europe subsequent to the Yorkist victory, it tells the story of two exiled Lancastrians who are on a top-secret mission to the court of Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy. However, their quest is put in danger when they run into difficulties in the Swiss mountains. Highly recommended for fans of historical fiction and not to be missed by collectors of Scott's seminal work. Sir Walter Scott (1771 - 1832) was a seminal Scottish playwright, poet, and historical novelist whose novels were and remain to be widely read and enjoyed the world over. Other notables works by this author include: "Ivanhoe", "Rob Roy", "Old Mortality", "The Lady of the Lake", "Waverley", "The Heart of Midlothian", and "The Bride of Lammermoor".
