About this ebook

The Sunday Times top ten bestseller...

You're not going home. You're not going anywhere. You're mine now.

Growing up in a deeply troubled family, 15-year-old Anna felt lost and alone in the world. So when a friendly taxi driver befriended her, Anna welcomed the attention, and agreed to go home with him to meet his family. She wouldn't escape for over a decade.

Held captive by a sadistic paedophile, Anna was subjected to despicable levels of sexual abuse and torture. The unrelenting violence and degradation resulted in numerous miscarriages, and the birth of four babies... each one stolen away from Anna at birth.

Her salvation arrived thirteen years too late, but despite her shattered mind and body, Anna finally managed to flee. This is her harrowing, yet uplifting, true story of survival.

*SPOILS* very intense once you start you just can't wait to see what happens next! however due to such details with the rape and blood etc that truthfully didn't need described (mentioned but not described so detailed) its not a 5 star book.. I do understand that for her it was a reality and I do know that she suffered and that she should mention what had happened but I just feel it didn't need to be described so much to be warned that it is a trigger warning this book does contain a whole lot of rape and abuse that is very detailed more detailed than it needs to be other than that good book and I wish Anna the best and I hope that someday she can see her other kids even once in a while or Holliday's. Anna you're free now...Enjoy it love.

Secret Slave is not an easy read, but it is a necessary one. Anna Ruston’s story confronts some of the darkest realities of human cruelty abduction, dehumanization, brutal sexual violence, and unimaginable suffering. What makes this memoir so impactful is not just the horrific details but the quiet strength and resilience Anna demonstrates throughout. This is not a tale for those seeking light entertainment. It’s a raw, unfiltered testimony that demands courage from the reader. The graphic descriptions are painful but essential because they reflect the reality Anna endured for years. There is no sanitizing the truth here and that honesty is part of the healing process. Anna’s story also offers hope. Despite years of abuse, loss, and trauma, she ultimately finds love, rebuilds her life, and shows that survival does not mean being broken. Reading this memoir is an act of solidarity with survivors everywhere, a way to honor their suffering and resilience.

Yes, this child's story is horrifying and tragic, starting with maternal neglect, who passed her daughter to her grandmother and back, never enrolling her in school or getting her healthcare. Mom also reads that she obviously sold her daughter to that "gypsy cab driver" and walked away. It seems to be apparent that she has never received an education or wanted to, even after rescue. Honestly, this is quite possibly the worst book of survivability I have ever read. After three chapters I yelled out loud, "NO ONE PROOF READ THIS!!! HOW WAS THIS PUBLISHED??" 🤨😠😡🤬 I gave it several more chapters, but unfortunately, the fact that she was not even given a ghostwriter and that the publishing company DID NOT PROOFREAD THE FINAL MANUSCRIPT, forced me to give up.
