Mathildas liebevoll angelegter Garten in Aachen ist ihre ganz private Oase. Mit der Ruhe ist es jedoch vorbei, als sie ausgerechnet am Tag der offenen Gartentür einen Toten in einer versteckten Ecke des Gartens findet und ihre Lieblingsstatue "Waltzing Matilda" sich als die Mordwaffe herausstellt. Und damit nicht genug - Mathilda wird des Mordes verdächtigt, und mit jedem Versuch, ihre Unschuld zu beweisen, verstrickt sie sich und ihre Nachbarinnen nur noch tiefer in den Fall. Dabei hatte der ermordete Anlageberater und notorische Frauenheld mehr als genügend Feinde, doch die haben allesamt Alibis. Oder haben Mathilda und die ermittelnden Polizisten etwas Entscheidendes übersehen?
