About this ebook

Are culturally conditioned differences to be found in adult's conceptions of God? 24 interviews with persons from different cultures are individually assessed and presented. The conceptions of God are considered under their emotional and cognitive components. Language samples are examined in terms of differences and similarities. A special emphasis takes shape in the assessment of the question of Theodicy, upon which can be established in an exemplary way that those interviewed do not perceive or resolve ambivalences in their understanding of God. It seems less important what is believed, and rather more important how the relationship to God takes shape: in event of a crisis - in everyday life - as support in personal development. The work concludes with impulses for religious and Christian education.
