Ali Almanna is currently Assistant Professor of Translation at the Department of Foreign Languages in the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Nizwa, Sultanate of Oman. He received his MA in Translation Studies from the University of Westminster, UK, and his PhD in Translation Studies from the University of Durham, UK. He is the author of Translation Theories Exemplified from Cicero to Pierre Bourdieu: a Coursebook on Translation (2014), and the co-editor of Culguage in/of Translation from Arabic (2014). He is also the co-editor, with Professor Mohammed Farghal, of Translation between Creativity of Language and Dynamism of Culture (2013; in Arabic).
