This book describes in full detail the surgical principles and technology of Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA), providing evidence-based data on the biomechanics of the knee joint and biomaterials in arthroplasty. Starting the chapters with the history and anatomy, the book expands its focus on important issues such as implant designs of articular geometry and ligament substitution. It describes the thorough procedures of surgery from planning, operation, discussion on how to improve the range of motion, postoperative rehabilitation and also patient satisfaction. O autorovi

Dr. Shuichi Matsuda is a professor and chairman at Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Kyoto University. He graduated from medial school of Kyushu University (Japan) in 1990, and he took a research fellowship at Barnes West Hospital, Washington University in St Louis (USA). He completed his PhD thesis on knee kinematics in 2002. In 2012, he was appointed as chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Kyoto University. He has published more than 650 peer reviewed articles. He became the first member of Knee Society from Asia in 2010, and he is member of many international societies such as Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons (ABJS), AAOS, ORS, etc. He served as the first chair for Arthroplasty Committee of ISAKOS from 2015 to 2017, and he was selected as the president of Japanese Replacement Arthroplasty Society in 2021.
