The journey of life can include many ups and downs. It is virtually impossible to go through life without running into some bumps in the road, mishaps, pain, regrets, disappointments, and even failures.

When we look back on our lives, I think there are times when we wish we knew during those times what we know now, because there is no doubt that it would have helped us avoid some difficulties and setbacks.

Wisdom is built on knowledge and understanding, and the wisest person who ever lived said, "The first step to becoming wise is to look for wisdom, so use everything you have to get understanding."

Like some, I was fortunate to have a mentor during my teenage years who introduced me to some fundamentals at a young age. I credit this mentor with helping to mould my personality and significantly reducing the errors of judgement I made as I trudged along the path of life.

Some people have made remarkable progress in areas of life where others have struggled. Some have gained valuable experience over the years in cultivating a lifestyle that others admire or try to emulate.

Whatever stage of life we are in, I am convinced that it is never too late to learn a thing or two that can help to improve our lifestyle values and make us better people who others can look up to.
