Trapped and isolated in small-town Wisconsin, Sarah wants nothing more than to blend in and lead a normal life away from her abusive brother. Weighing five hundred pounds and having no job or formal education, however, makes this almost impossible.

Barbara Boehm Miller writes about secret societies and marginalized people and creates desperate and unsavory characters who, nonetheless, appeal to readers. She earned a Master of Arts degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University and has had several short fiction pieces published in literary journals.
