“The Twelve Brothers” is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm. Their sister bravely endures a period of silence and laughter for seven years to break the curse and ultimately rescue them.

Jacob Grimm (born 1785) and Wilhelm Grimm (born 1786) were German scholars and folklorists. They became known for their collection of folk tales and fairy tales.
