Teeth tear. Mouths crawl. The dead scream your name. Welcome to Mumbai’s darkest slum, where the air stinks of fish and rot, and survival’s a daily fight. Arjun, a tough 15-year-old kid, scavenges trash for food to keep his sickly little sister, Priya, alive. He dodges bullies, jokes with friends, and dreams of a better life. But one night, a dead dog’s mouth moves—CHOMP CHOMP—ripping its own guts out. That’s just the start. Corpses wake with slimy, toothy mouths that eat, crawl, and kill. Arjun’s best friend’s face gets chewed off, blood spraying hot. His mom’s voice, cold and hateful, whispers from a mouth that hunts him. When Priya’s cough stops her heart, her mouth giggles—SLURP GURGLE—and chases him too. The mouths breed, biting the living to make more. Then they melt together, forming a giant, rolling ball of teeth and tongues—CRUNCH HAHA—crushing shacks, sucking people in, spitting bones. Arjun fights to stop it, swinging sticks, shouting love to weaken his mom’s hate. But the slum’s pain—poverty, anger, death—feeds this curse, born from a twisted ritual gone wrong. Every page screams at you—CHOMP SLURP—with sounds that leap out. Words drip like slime, text rots like the story’s dying. Smells of blood, pus, and shit choke your nose. This ain’t just a horror novel. It’s a gut-punch to your soul, a knife in your heart. Arjun’s not a hero—he’s scared, broken, fighting for his sister, for hope. Will he kill the curse, or become its next mouth?

Perfect for fans of Stephen King, Clive Barker, or raw Indian horror, this supernatural thriller breaks all rules.

The Mumbai slum feels alive—rickshaws honk, monsoon mud sticks, street food sizzles. The mouths talk to you, warning you’re next.

The Mouths of the Dead by The Slum Ghost is a dark suspense ride that’ll haunt you long after the last page.

Om författaren

Advitya Ray is a Indian storyteller—an actor, writer, director, and editor—Born in Bihar and raised in Nagpur, Advitya was always drawn to the magic of storytelling. Even as a child, he found joy in theatre—writing, directing, and performing school plays, capturing imaginations long before he ever stepped into a professional studio.

At the age of 15, Advitya picked up a camera and began creating short films with his friends. These small experiments soon turned into passionate projects, leading him to launch a YouTube channel, where he shared socially aware, heartfelt short films—all written, directed, and edited by him.

During his college years, he founded A Thespis Theatre Group, earning praise for his expressive performances and powerful storytelling on stage. His journey then brought him to Mumbai, the city of dreams, where he took a leap of faith to pursue filmmaking full-time. There, he trained at a theatre school, worked as an Assistant Director on web series, and acted in short films and music videos—continuously sharpening his craft in both front and behind the camera.

In 2022, Advitya worked on NFDC documentary ‘A Son of Himalaya’, taking on the role of Creative Director and Editor. His work stood out for its visual depth and emotional storytelling. This collaboration led him to direct a documentary series on the life and legacy of Ranjit Kapoor, the legendary writer and director. This biography, produced by Aaditrie Dipika, is a deeply respectful and artistic tribute to one of Indian theatre and cinema’s greatest minds.

Along with Aaditrie Dipika, he co-founded A18 Films, Rigel Collective, and A Thespis Theatre Group. These creative collectives focus on film, theatre, and documentary work, while also offering space and support to new storytellers and artists.

But storytelling doesn’t stop with film for Advitya. He is also an author, and his love for writing runs deep. In 2025, he published his first novel, ‘The Skull Throne of Aghor Kali’, a bold and dark mythological horror. Encouraged by Aaditrie Dipika, who recognized his gift for storytelling, he took the plunge into literature—a decision that unlocked yet another dimension of his creativity.

Through his books, Advitya invites readers into worlds that are eerie, magical, and deeply thought-provoking. His goal is simple yet powerful: to tell stories that linger in your mind long after the final page is turned.
