Then a German soldier finds and saves Cora. Max Heller is nothing like she would have expected: kind, good-humoured and selfless. Cora can't help falling in love with him as he helps to plot her escape. But the discovery of a devastating secret about her birth mother forces her to confront a painful truth. The contents of her letter are too important not to make it out of Paris, but should she place her trust in an enemy soldier, or go it alone and risk everything?
