True-Detective Mystery author Ben Newman has written about scores of murders, and thinks he has seen it all, until he is confronted with murders of adults from his childhood neighborhood. The death of a childhood friend turned pharmacist, and then a former flame of Ben’s turns the investigation away from Ben’s brother. More friends re-enter Ben’s life only to mysteriously die. He and Lt. Gowan team up to track down the murderer as the list of missing and dead friends grows. Hovering in the background is a kindly and helpful stranger who may hold the key to the string of deaths.
