He is the author of more than a dozen novels, including the Nick Polo series and the Carroll Quint series as well as numerous stand-alone novels. His Nick Polo novels have twice been named a finalist for the Shamus Award. He worked as a policeman and a licensed private investigator for more than last twenty years. He has served as vice president of the Private Eye Writers of America.
