About this audiobook

An emotional, irresistible second-chance romance filled with sparkling humor, big feelings, and "melt your face off intimacy" (Jessica Joyce) from celebrated USA Today bestselling author Tarah DeWitt.

This time, they'll get it right.

Wren and Ellis Byrd fell in love as kids, had their son Sam when they were only teenagers, and built a life together in the coastal town of Spunes, Oregon. They were made for one another . . . until they fell apart. Now divorced and in their 30s, Wren runs the bakery in town, while Ellis works as a firefighter. They live separate lives, though they are hardly off each other’s minds.

When Ellis and Wren move Sam into college, Ellis convinces Wren to take an extended road trip back to Spunes to see if they can give their relationship one last chance. Amid the gorgeous California coastline and the intimacy they have missed for years, Wren starts to think it just might be possible. But can the past truly be left behind? When words fail and old wounds resurface, it’s a soul-baring letter that could finally reveal the truth—or close the door on them forever.

A Macmillan Audio production from St. Martin’s Press.

Second chance romance done so well. This is a divorced couple trying to fix their mistakes. It’s an amazingly touching story. Wren and Ellis go on a road trip filled with such powerful, emotionally freeing moments. I loved how little their son played a role in their relationship as a whole. It was a them issue. It was a them romance. The parent part played almost no role. I LOVE this.

I listened to the audio version of this book narrated by Connor Crais and Megan Wicks. The narration was superb. The emotions were vividly portrayed and it was very easy to listen to. This was an amazing second chance romance with mature characters that really cared about each other. Wren and Ellis are divorced and taking their only child to college. Ellis convinces Wren to take a short trip with him to try to discover if there is still something there for them. There was humor, flirting, romantic gestures, hot times and just plain longing of the heart. Tarah DeWitt really hit all the right marks for me. Fantastic! Thanks to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the audio. All thoughts are my own.

I had high expectations for this because Savor It (Spunes book 1) was in my top five reads last year. So, like all things I am excited for, I sat on it until I needed it. Left of Forever focuses on another Byrd sibling, Ellis, and his ex-wife, Wren. We start their story at the end, when their son Sam is graduating high school and on the way to college. Through fate or kismet, they are able to find a new way to communicate and ultimately open up to each other. With new courage, Ellis plans a trip for them to try to rekindle their romance and get a second chance with the love of his life. Tarah Dewitt creates such utterly whole and complete characters that it’s easy to fall in love with them. What’s magical, however, is how she heals them and sometimes the reader in less than 400 pages. I was full of feelings, in the best way possible, for the entire audiobook.
