About this audiobook

Saddle Up for a Wild Ride with Billy Bob, Texas's Own Angel of Death!

Forget everything you think you know about the Grim Reaper. In the heart of Texas, there's an Angel of Death with a Stetson and a heart of gold (mostly). Meet William Robert Travis, better known to his friends as Billy Bob. He's been riding the dusty trails of Texas history for centuries, guiding souls to meet the Maker in the hereafter.

Billy Bob's got a knack for bending the cosmic guidelines when he believes it's the right thing to do. Whether it's a battlefield, a dusty cattle drive, or a bustling boomtown, Billy Bob is there. With his feisty white horse, Bone, and his two loyal hound dogs, Skip and Clem, by his side, he rarely loses a soul to the Abyss.

As Billy Bob collects souls and rights wrongs, he makes unexpected friends, navigates the quirky challenges of human existence, and sometimes has to answer to his exasperated celestial supervisor, Grim. And just when you think you know Billy Bob, he appears as Billie, the White Lady, who surprises you with her legendary escapades.

Join Billy Bob as he weaves through the vibrant tapestry of Texas's past, proving that even an Angel of Death can be a maverick spirit.

Since Billy Bob is the death ambassador for Texas, it is only fitting that the audiobook narrator, Jim Patton’s voice has some Texas Twang to it. The narrator’s voice quality and character distinction, pacing and rhythm, and emotional delivery were all exceptional. I loved the different accents, and they made the book even more enjoyable. Overall, I really enjoyed the stories and think the excellent narration added to the experience for me.

This was my first experience with this author's work, and I enjoyed it very much. I was a little confused by the format at first, but when I started paying attention to the dates, the story made sense, and I was charmed by the unusual tales. I was entertained by the characters, William Robert Travis, his white horse Bone, and his two hound dogs, Skip and Clem. I enjoyed the humorous moments and the surprising events. I thought Jim Patton's narration was great.
