Subtle Blood

I really enjoyed this third foray into the Will Darling adventures. My only gripe would be that it felt a little too similar to the previous one and had shades of the Asimov Foundation series which I recall (actually I think totally erroneously) as ending each book thinking they had found Earth and then starting the next book with a 'whoops no, that wasn't the real Earth' and repeat. Anyway, loved the book, love the series, hopefully one day KJ Charles will write a fourth book.

It is so wonderful to have, not only a book, but a whole series of well written, period romance novels with gay men at the center of the story. I acknowledge that "gay man" hardly describes most readers but, as one of those myself, I am so refreshed having concluded the series as it stands.
