About this audiobook

A #1 LIBRARYREADS PICK!
AN INDIE NEXT PICK!

“Davies infuses the story with tenderness and playfulness, matching its themes of second chances, found family, and quiet courage. This wonderfully narrated romantic fantasy has just the right touch of whimsy.”—AudioFile

New York Times bestselling author Sarah Beth Durst invites you to her new standalone novel set in the world of The Spellshop! Follow her to The Enchanted Greenhouse, a cozy fantasy nestled on a faraway island brimming with singing flowers, honey cakes, and honeyed love.

Terlu Perna broke the law because she was lonely. She cast a spell and created a magically sentient spider plant. As punishment, she was turned into a wooden statue and tucked away into an alcove in the North Reading Room of the Great Library of Alyssium.

This should have been the end of her story. Yet one day, Terlu wakes in the cold of winter on a nearly-deserted island full of hundreds of magical greenhouses. She’s starving and freezing, and the only other human on the island is a grumpy gardener. To her surprise, he offers Terlu a place to sleep, clean clothes, and freshly baked honey cakes—at least until she’s ready to sail home.

But Terlu doesn’t want to return home, and as she grows closer with the unwittingly charming gardener, Yarrow, she learns that the magic that sustains the greenhouses is failing—causing the death of everything within them. Terlu knows she must help, even if that means breaking the law again.

This time, though, she isn’t alone. Assisted by Yarrow and a sentient rose, Terlu must unravel the secrets of a long-dead sorcerer if she wants to save the island—and have a fresh chance at happiness and love.

Funny, kind, and forgiving, The Enchanted Greenhouse is a story about giving second chances—to others and to yourself.

"Fans of Studio Ghibli's animated films will enjoy the way Caitlin Davies performs this enchanting story.... She knows how to complement the humor on the page with a colorful delivery." —AudioFile on The Spellshop

This book is an incredible example of GrumpyxSunshine and beautifully done micro world building. We don't know everything about the characters and we don't know everything about how things happen external from the island they are on, but the author constructs the most perfect tiny bubble of a world and hones in on all of its beautiful features. I loved getting to revisit this magical world on a different island. It's absolute enrapturing.

**I won the audiobook as part of a Storygraph giveaway from the Publisher- thank you!!!** 4.25 ⭐️ 1 🌶 (there is one sort of closed-door scene, but it's mostly just kisses 🥰) 🎧 The narrator does such a good job, and after The Spell Shop last year, I was looking forward to the sequel and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Sarah Beth Durst really knows how to write a feel-good cozy fantasy. Can't wait to listen to book 3 next year!!! ☆talking plants ☆magic ☆gardening ☆friends-to-lovers ☆isolated island

Just give me all the books that Sarah Beth Durst writes! THE ENCHANTED GREENHOUSE provides all the fun, feel-good vibes of a cozy fantasy. We have talking plants, spells gone wrong, a flying cat, and miniature dragons. But this whimsical story also has surprising depth. A sweet romance, complex characters and relationship dynamics, and found family combine to make this heartfelt and memorable. I listened to the audiobook, which I highly recommend. Caitlin Davies perfectly nails the whole vibe. THE ENCHANTED GREENHOUSE is a followup to THE SPELLSHOP, but they’re set in different worlds with different characters. You don’t have to read the first book, though I absolutely recommend you do because it’s fantastic! *Thanks to Macmillan Audio for the free audiobook download!*
