Srinivasa Ramanujan (1887–1920) was an Indian mathematician who made extraordinary contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions. He produced a wealth of original work, including the famous Ramanujan primes and his highly accurate approximations for pi. Ramanujan's legacy continues to influence mathematics today, with numerous formulas and concepts bearing his name, and he remains an iconic figure in the history of mathematics.
