The biggest problem with this thriller is that the mystery and suspense does not last very long. It is extremely predictable. The main idea of the story is decent but it is let down by insufferable characters and huge plot holes. It is far too easy for the reader to figure out what's going on and so you find yourself just waiting for the dumb main character to catch up. This makes the book, especially the final third feel twice as long as it actually was. Prior to reading this, i had seen reviews that talked about a great twist.There are no crazy twists and turns, there is only a secret that the main character acknowledges many times throughout the book but never reveals until the end, by which point you just don't care anymore because you already figured out the story 20 chapters ago. There are not a lot of positives to take from this book so 2 stars actually feels generous.
