Lorna Doone is probably my favourite book, and this is an absolutely beautiful reading of it. For a long time I put off buying the audiobook because it was a high price and (I think) because the preview wasn't long enough to assure me that it was good. But eventually I took the plunge and have not regretted it one bit - worth every penny. Beautiful writing, wonderful characters, richly evoked landscapes, wry and warm observations and a rollicking tale. And this reading does it all full justice. (if anyone has seen a 1+1/2 star rating from me before, that can only have been a finger-slip)
