Americans and Germans alike are drawn to a hilltop in the remote German countryside, where they find themselves between powerful armies and forced into a terrible decision that could end one war or begin a new one.

James R. Benn is the author of the Billy Boyle World War II Mystery series, which includes the novels Billy Boyle, The First Wave, Blood Alone, Evil for Evil, Rag and Bone, and A Mortal Terror. A librarian for many years, he now writes full time and lives in Hadlyme, Connecticut.
Barry Press has been an active professional actor, director, and teacher for over thirty-five years. He has performed off Broadway and at numerous regional theaters from Alaska to Florida. He is founder and artistic director of Living Literature, a Rhode Island–based literacy program.
