âThe Dumpâ is what Doug Swieteck calls his new home in upstate New York. Gary D. Schmidt is the author of Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy, which won both Newbery and Printz Honors, and The Wednesday Wars, winner of a Newbery Honor.
