After returning to London to study medicine, he becomes wildly infatuated with Mildred, a vulgar, tawdry waitress, and begins a doomed love affair that will change the course of his life.

W. Somerset Maugham (1874-1965) was an English playwright, novelist, and short story writer whose most notable works include Of Human Bondage, The Razor's Edge, and The Gentleman in the Parlour.
Steven Crossley has recorded over two hundred audiobooks and has won multiple AudioFile Earphones Awards. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, his audiobook performances cover an eclectic range of subjects in both fiction and nonfiction.
