The Prodigal Son Mission on Mulberry Bend stands as a refuge for girls who otherwise would have to live by selling the only thing they have of value—themselves. The work being done there so impresses midwife Sarah Brandt that she volunteers to help out however she can—with clothes, with medical assistance, and with the organization of a benefit dinner. Edgar Award-nominated author Victoria Thompson writes the Gaslight Mystery series, set in turn-of-the-century New York City and featuring midwife Sarah Brandt. Victoria teaches in the Seton Hill University master's program in writing popular fiction. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and a very spoiled little dog.
Callie Beaulieu has been an actress for several decades. Classically trained, she is predominantly a theater actress, and her work has been seen around the country. Callie recently returned to the U.S. after spending nearly a decade living in the Caribbean. She is a proud member of Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
