Fifteen-year-old Cara Gillespie and her family visit a 'living' museum, Harply Historical Village, which depicts a slice of Australian rural village life in the nineteenth century. When the time comes to leave the museum village, Cara finds a curious-looking device in some long grass. Believing the device to be a transistor radio, Cara spins the dial and promptly transfers herself back to the 1840s, where she finds that by some mischance her mother has also been transported. Now all Cara and her mother have to do is somehow work out how they can get themselves back to the year 2001 and Dad, who is waiting in the car park in the Mitsubishi. But before they achieve this, there are a number of hilarious and heart-stopping adventures to be had along the way.

David McRobbie is the author of many best-selling books for children and young adults, and many of his stories have been adapted for television, including the very funny Wayne series, Eugénie Sandler PI, and Fergus McPhail. Since 1990, he has published more than 30 titles. The thriller, See How They Run, published by Penguin in 1994, was also adapted by the BBC/ABC as a gripping television series.

Caroline Lee is a gifted actor and audiobook narrator who has worked extensively in theatre, film and television. Caroline has narrated a large number of bestselling titles, including Apples Never Fall, Big Little Lies and Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty. On stage, she has performed for various theatre companies including the Melbourne Theatre Company and recently appeared in The Newsreader on the ABC. She has received three Green Room Awards for Best Actress, and four AudioFile Earphones Awards, including Best Audiobook of the Year 2016 for Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty.
