About this audiobook

Who are you? When you start to explore this question, you find out
how elusive it really is. Are you a physical body? A collection of
experiences and memories? A partner to relationships? Each time you consider these aspects of yourself, you realize that there is much more to you than any of these can define. In The Untethered Soul,
spiritual teacher Michael A. Singer explores the question of who we are and arrives at the conclusion that our identity is to be found in our
consciousness, the fact of our ability to observe ourselves, and the world around us. By tapping into traditions of meditation and
mindfulness, Singer shows how the development of consciousness can
enable us all to dwell in the present moment and let go of painful
thoughts and memories that keep us from achieving happiness and
self-realization.

The Untethered Soul offers a frank and friendly discussion of consciousness and how we can
develop it. In part one, Singer examines the notion of self and the inner dialogue we all live with. Part two examines the experience of energy as it flows through us and works to show listeners how to open their hearts to the energy of experience that permeates their lives. Ways to overcome tendencies to close down to the rest of the world are the subject of
part three. Enlightenment, the embrace of universal consciousness, is the subject of part four. And finally, in part five, Singer returns to daily life and the pursuit of unconditional happiness. Throughout, the book maintains a light and engaging tone, free from heavy dogma and prescriptive religious references. The easy exercises that figure in each chapter help listeners experience the ideas that Singer presents.

The author certainly likes to hear himself talk. I can appreciate the content, but would have loved it to be delivered in a more concise way. On the topic of attachment, the author seems attached to believing he knows the challenges of his listeners lives, however I didn't feel his examples were particularly relevant to my own.

in the famous words of john lennon, " let it be ". the book doesnt take a lot of things into account, under the many circumstances it refers to. nice to just pop in and listen to though. STINK MOP, DISTRACTION! sometimes we have to work on ourselves, and get through things, to move forward. and i would hope you all know youre hearing yourself think. what if other people are intentionally blocking your flow? what if you apply concepts and try and say, hi. to a stranger and they say bug off? works also not this happy disney work place all day. and to people that think break ups are easy no matter how bad the case lol. yebbin. just be you, stay in your lane, and youll be a better person if you sit with pain ( recenter) vs other advise you may get and then find your closure. closure is a clear under standing this person no longer wants you in their life, to the point of calling the cops. this wires your brain with its over, no cracked door of whats ifs. lifes tough be tougher

I wish Michael Singer (the author) had narrated this audio book. I just listened to 3 minutes of the free sample and couldn't stand it. The tone it is read in reads with contempt, and there is no way I'm listening to that for 6 hours. Please redo this audio book with the author reading it!!!!
