Ciccarelli successfully balanced tension, plot, conflict, romance, etc, without making it seem redundant or cliche as an enemies to lovers' story. My interest was piqued the entire time, and at no point was I bored. Ciccarelli's books have been getting better and better as time goes on. I really love that she doesn't take reader base for granted. I was exceptionally disappointed with 4th Wing sequel due to forced/unrealistic tension and conflict. I'm glad Ciccarelli kept true to her characters' spirit for both books.
