About the author

John McCarthy is an author, broadcaster, journalist and motivational speaker. In 1986, he was kidnapped by terrorists in the Lebanon, and spent 1,943 days in captivity before being release on 8 August 1991. The experience inspired his 1993 memoir, Some Other Rainbow (co-authored with Jill Morrell) and prompted his landmark BBC radio series John McCarthy's Bible Journey.
