Millicent Brown is not the perfect mother, as she rents out her Chicago apartment to drug dealers as a trap house. However, when a deal goes wrong with one of her dealers, Mill is arrested as she watches the Director of the Department of Children and Family Services, Mrs. Ross, take her children away.

While it is Ms. Ross's responsibility to make sure these children are taken care of, Mrs. Ross instead starts orchestrating the sale of Mill's two children.

My Name is Tanya Hilson, and to simply put it, I love the joy of storytelling. My passion for writing started at a young age and has stayed with me throughout my life, but I would never have thought in a million years that I'd be writing screenplays, stage plays, television pilots, or children's books due to my dyslexia. I like to write because it humbles me within, and it's therapeutic to me; sharing my stories with others brings me joy.I'm a mother of two children and a new grandmother to a beautiful granddaughter. A passionate humanitarian to my core, I also run a nonprofit organization called WeLiveOn2, which helps people who have been previously incarcerated obtain employment by assisting with resume writing and career readiness skills. We also have a program called "Sandwiches on Wheels," which helps feed the homeless within and around the Chicagoland.I've written several books, including Back Porch Neighbors, Back Porch Secrets, Ruby's Diner, Human Collateral, Shadow Eyes, John's Hidden Truth, and My Cousin Sue. I love spending quality time with family, loved ones, and friends outside of work. I also enjoy cooking, playing cards, watching movies, and playing video games.As I stated initially, I never thought I'd be writing, but I genuinely love the delight of storytelling. If I put a smile on someone's face after they have read my books or listened to my audibles, all I can say is, good job Tanya!My belief is, "never give up on a dream, for others cannot dream for you."
