Jean Bachoura is a Melbourne based actor and writer of Levantine descent. He is an inaugural recipient of of the Wheeler Centreβs scheme for writers, The Next Chapter. His work is reflective of a life lived between cultures: born in Damascus, raised in Syria, Lebanon and Australia. In 2016 he was awarded the Deborah Cass Prize for his piece βNight Fallsβ. As an actor he has worked across stage, TV and film productions, including Goran Stolevskiβs βYou Deserve Everythingβ, and more recently Taika Waititiβs βTime Banditsβ.
