His colleagues scoffed, dismissing his ideas as the ravings of a madman.
"You're chasing fairy tales, Harry," they had sneered. "There's no evidence to support your claims. You'll ruin your career if you pursue this folly."
But Dr. Stine couldn't let it go. The whispers of Almaz had haunted him since childhood when his grandfather, a world-renowned explorer himself, had told him stories of a place where gold flowed like water and ancient gods slumbered in hidden tombs. On his deathbed, his grandfather had pressed the tattered map into Harry's hands, his eyes gleaming with a feverish light.
"Find it, Harry," he had whispered. "Prove them all wrong. The treasure of Almaz will make our family name immortal."
