Alli and I will deal with the most common: monsters, the dark, clowns or people in costume, insects, medicine, and shots. They develop because you’re doing a good job of exposing your children to the world around them, but as Tamar Chansky (Freeing Your Child from Anxiety) states clearly, “A preschooler’s imagination is really blossoming, and he can often concoct some scary explanations for things that he’s not sure about.”
