Warm, insightful and poignant, Freeing Grace tells the story of David, curate of an inner-city parish, and Leila, his Nigerian-born wife. Unable to have children of their own, they're desperate for a family. When they finally hear they've been approved to adopt a baby, Grace, they can scarcely believe their good fortune. There's just one problem for which David and Leila cannot plan: Grace's birth family тАУ the enigmatic, charismatic Harrisons. Enlisting their friend, the feckless, charming New Zealander, Jake Kelly тАУ who's half in love with all of them, one way or another тАУ the Harrisons send him on a quest that will force a confrontation. Ultimately, each has a terrible decision to make. Everyone only wants what's best for Grace тАУ but who can say exactly what that is?

Charity Norman is the best-selling author of seven novels. Born in Uganda and brought up in draughty vicarages in the North of England, she spent some years in escapist travel before becoming a barrister, specialising in crime, family law and mediation. In 2002, realising that her three small children had barely met her, she took a break from the law and moved with them and her kiwi husband to Aotearoa New Zealand, where she began to write.

Kate Hood is one of Bolinda's most popular narrators and receives regular praise from listeners, authors and reviewers alike. Her seamless delivery and outstanding characterisations make the most extraordinary stories even more compelling. Kate has worked extensively in radio and in television both in Australia and New Zealand. Her theatre credits include Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, Chicago and Sweet Charity. Bolinda audiobooks narrated by Kate include Tears of the Moon by Di Morrissey (winner of an AudioFile magazine Earphones Award), Turn Left at Bindi Creek by Lynne Wilding and Craft for a Dry Lake by Kim Mahood.
