Haunted by powerful dreams of Light during the dark winter months, Reddix struggles to secure a paying job before she turns sixteen. Living under the oppressive roof of her scheming siblings, the only thing she can hold onto is her hope. Her curiosity to explore what seems to be trapped within her leads to a fateful encounter with a mysterious tradesman. When he sells her a promising stone, a hidden path toward becoming a Light Enchanter begins to unfold.

However, crafting Light Enchantments will soon be the least of her challenges as she discovers a connection to a raw and dangerous force that mirrors the power wielded by the kingdom's most formidable enemy. As she unravels the mysteries of the shadows and learns to harness their true potential, she must also confront the truth of her own identity.
