He could read the words on the spines of the books as he entered the library where he was taught reading. He said, “I started to see things differently. Before, when I looked at the books on the shelves, the letters looked like a bunch of scrambled letters. Now, since I’ve learned to read, the letters make sense.” He is a tenth grader, and he has been receiving intense training in reading, writing, and spelling for the past seventeen months.
