Why Despair?

• You will have despair or hope.

• You can use despair to reach hope.

• All is despair when you rely on yourself.

• We must despair to switch to God, not to excuse evil.

• To despair of human nature is the beginning of intelligence.

• Nothing more clearly defines the human condition than despair.

• To despair of despair is to gain the understanding that nothing can save you but the grace of God.

Who Despairs?

• You are already in despair.

Despair of Despair was not written to cause despair.

Despair of Despair was written to awaken you to your despair.

• By discovering and facing your despair, you have the opportunity to seek God or find more ways of trying to avoid, cover, and escape your despair.

• Some might blame Despair of Despair for their despair.

• However, Despair of Despair has no magical or supernatural powers to cause anyone despair.

• People regularly blame their despair on their parents, family, fellow workers, friends, partners, circumstances, situations, and society.

• Yet, despair is the natural human condition for adults because they are failing at life.

No Excuses

• If you don’t yet take responsibility for your feelings, please read Fast-Facts: Feelings for a fast and furious introduction to emotional responsibility.

• If you are looking for excuses for failure or the ultimate failure—suicide, this book is not for you.

• If you need reasons to surrender to God, this book is for you.

Despair of Despair was written to turn you from death, darkness, destruction, deception, and despair to life, light, and love.

• Face your despair and put all in God’s hands.

Be Yourself

• The author is convinced that if you discover the true nature of your being and return to it, nearly all of your life problems will vanish.

• Therefore, some focus is on being your original vessel-nature, authentic self (host), and true self (internal place).

نبذة عن المؤلف

After more than twenty-five years in the counseling field, Mr. FitzMaurice has refined many principles and methods of counseling. He now puts those principles and methods into book form to share them with a wider audience so more people can benefit than he can reach in person. He has written over seventy books, most of which are available worldwide from Amazon and other sources.

• Mr. FitzMaurice has various formal and advanced training in counseling, including Addictions Counseling, Family Therapy, advanced Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Transactional Analysis (TA), and over 1,650 hours of diverse training for continuing education units (CEUs).

• To make the best use of that extensive training, he takes an integrative approach, grounding himself in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (REBT and CBT) and using the other theories to build upon that one core theory rather than focusing on multiple theories and mastering none of them.

• His writings and interests focus on philosophy, psychology, recovery, self-help, and spirituality.
