Imogen Duffy is a young Irish jockey, whose fledgling career is given a huge boost when she wins a prestigious horse race at the Cheltenham Steeplechasing Festival. But all is not well in her life. She has a violent and controlling boyfriend, also a jockey, and he becomes increasingly jealous of her success. She tries to break off their relationship, but he won't take 'no' for an answer. He attacks her, and claims that he'd rather kill her than allow her to leave him. Imogen flees her home in Ireland, coming to England to get away from him, and to continue her riding career. But the abusive boyfriend follows her across the Irish Sea, stalks her, attacks her again and then tries to ruin both her career and her reputation. Imogen's father turns to Sid Halley for help, and Sid reluctantly agrees to investigate, but then finds that he is also being stalked and threatened. Can Sid find out what the hell is going on, and before it is too late?

Born in 1953, Felix studied physics and electronics at London University and then embarked on a 17-year career teaching advanced level physics. Felix is the youngest son of Dick Francis, who was acclaimed as one of the greatest thriller writers in the world. Felix had assisted Dick with both the research and the writing of many of his novels over the past 40 years, and when Dick died, he wanted his legacy to live on through his son. Felix has taken over the literary reigns from his father and has since written 11 successful Dick Francis books.

Martin Jarvis, OBE, is an English actor and voice performer. He has had a distinguished career in just about every aspect of the entertainment industry: film, television, theatre, radio and audio recording. He is also the author of two bestselling books: Acting Strangely, a hilarious autobiography, and Broadway, Jeeves?: The Diary of a Theatrical Adventure, a compelling account of his award-winning time on Broadway in 2001.

Anna Burnett began her acting career as a teenager, appearing in Burnt by the Sun and Men Should Weep, both at the National Theatre. Since then she has worked extensively in film and television, including as a series regular on the BBC drama Ripper Street. Also a voracious narrator, her audiobook credits include The Secrets of Rochester Place by Iris Costello and The Illusions by Liz Hyder. With a degree in English Literature from King’s College London, Anna is passionate about bringing the written word to life.
