The book covers five key elements of EQ: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. Goleman provides insights into how these skills contribute to healthier relationships, better decision-making, and overall emotional well-being. He highlights research that shows how emotional intelligence plays a vital role in leadership, communication, and resilience in both personal and workplace settings.

This has helped me understand myself and others better. I love how it gives people the inner workings of the human brain and the social effects of the individual. I have recommended this book to everyone because social media gives E.Q. a different definition and its great to arm yourself with knowledge on what it actually is.

This book did a excellent job of breaking down the different components of emotional development, what happens when we lack in certain areas of emotion development and how we can use emotional mastery to affect areas of our lives that on the outset may appear to be unrelated. Worth the read.
