Beyond the Pale

John Hooker (1932–2008) was the author of seven novels, including The Bush Soldiers and Beyond the Pale, that featured strong psychological and landscape elements. He also worked as publishing director at the publishing houses Penguin Books and Collins. The Australia Council recognised him with a Writers' Emeritus Award in 2001.

Stanley McGeagh is a gifted narrator and actor. Since starting his acting career in Ireland, he has worked in British repertory and on the West End.
