3.5 🌟 This was a quick read, a small town romance full of emotions, moving on from tragedy & becoming the best version of yourself. Both Scott & Ashlyn have a messy past, and neither of them are looking for a relationship, but their chemistry is intense. Overall it was enjoyable, but some parts of it were a little too cheesy and over the top. I didn’t really care for either narrator, which pulled me out of the story a bit. I usually love duet narration, unfortunately I didn’t care for them

Ayla Asher isn't exactly new to me. I've seen her books and intended to check out her work, but hadn't had a chance. So, when I saw the Hearts Reclaimed audiobook and realized it was the first in a series and narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross, I decided it was time. I love that audiobooks let me enjoy a book when I don't have time to sit down and read.

I love the way this was written. The male MC Scott was a widower and I liked how in this story it didn't make light that bond for this new one. This is very good description of the struggles and fears for someone whose partner has passed away that they'd thought was their soul mate. I liked the dynamic between the two and how empathetic she was to him. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
