A therapist had moved into the village of Carsely and Agatha Raisin hates her. Not only was this therapist, Jill Davent, romancing Agatha's ex-husband, but she had dug up details of Agatha's slum background.

Her books have been translated into seventeen languages and have sold more than twenty-two million copies worldwide. She is consistently the most borrowed UK adult author in British libraries, and her Agatha Raisin books have been turned into a TV series on Sky. M.C. Beaton's legacy continues as her good friend and fellow author R. W. Green has taken on the mantle of writing more crime novels featuring her two most beloved creations, Agatha Raisin and Hamish Macbeth.
