In-app purchases for anything worthwhile is expensive, also it's not worth it because your odds of actually getting anything better than rare from your shard purchases is ridiculous. The game is free to play if you do want something to pass time and not pay for anything you can play this game, but if you plan on progressing, you'd rather wait for free events and characters. it's been years and I have yet to acquire a mythical character from a shard, finally uninstalling this game now.

editing to add, expect to spend years playing as a F2P player if you dont want to spend money. Despite their reply, the game is a terrible grind as a F2P. Greed ruins it. It's got good bones, but everything is a drawn out grind designed to make you spend money. The tournaments and events would be a great way to earn some rare stuff, if they'd stick around long enough to earn them. The game does have good art and like I said, strong bones. The fights, character design, and animations are nice.

Hello! You don't necessarily need to invest real money in the game. You have lots of opportunities to progress by completing quests, missions, and challenges to get all kinds of in-game items, Shards, and Champions for free. And don't forget the secret sauce: strategy is key!

There is a growing problem with the game. Every few updates they add new heroes which is a good thing! however, The more heroes added to the game, the harder it'll be for you to get the character you want. This has been a problem for a while but it's getting worse. The game always demands specific characters but with no real way to focus champions (All of them). So the grind starts to get stale knowing that you may never get the character you want. This is something they need to change soon.
