About this game

Solve puzzles and explore cozy places around a foldable paper world in this enchanting game about growing up. Long-lost secrets and other wonders await.

This cozy top-down puzzle adventure is set in a foldable paper world where you play as Paige, a budding academic who's leaving home for the first time to pursue her studies. On this journey, you'll uncover secrets, explore new areas, meet characters with memorable stories and solve puzzles by folding the environment and merging the two sides into one.

FOLD A COZY WORLD, ONE PAGE AT A TIME

What feels simple at first — folding and forging paths to explore — quickly becomes mischievously tricky! Alter your world as you contort, spin, rotate and twist around to untangle the puzzle of Paper Trail.

ENGAGING PUZZLES, INTRIGUING PEOPLE

Solve puzzles that tease your brain and open up Paper Trail. Traveling through the folds will introduce you to a unique cast of characters whose stories help you navigate the wider world.

BEAUTIFUL, HANDCRAFTED ENVIRONMENTS

Deep, dark caves that haven't been explored. The tallest treetops buffeted by rain. This immersive game offers the opportunity to take in a variety of handcrafted environments as you continue on your path. Take in the sights and wonders as you go.

AN ENCHANTING ART STYLE

The look of Paper Trail draws heavily from flat aesthetic styles like printmaking and watercolors. These soothing styles seamlessly blend together and create a unique-looking game that complements the paper environment.

I really enjoyed this game. I found all the hidden origami as well. I thought their quips on each one was funny. I only wish it also showed how to make each origami animal as well, that would have been cool. Update anyone? eh eh? 😉 To the creators: if you come out with another one (maybe she finds Oscar lost in the folds), it could be more challenging by allowing the paper to fold more than just once. I did think the thief at the end was going to be Oscar.

Moderately difficult puzzle game with some unique twists. Worth a play. Some of the puzzles are a little repetitive in mechanics, but it isn't too bad. For example, moving some boulders will take multiple steps which is heavy on execution time despite already figuring it out mentally.

Despite the cozy vibes this game is extremely challenging. I appreciate the puzzles aren't timed, but even with the help feature I became quite frustrated more than once. The help feature only shows you how to fold the paper, not where to position yourself or if you should move a rock, etc. At times this is easy to figure out but I've been stuck on a level for over an hour and that's enough for me; I'd like to move on and enjoy the story. it's a good game just needs an easy mode or something.
