The chess board defaults to the smallest possible size. The size can be increased, but then you unable move the pieces. This happens on my tablet and my phone. On the tablet it negates the point of using a bigger device, and on the phone it makes the app effectivly unusable. This has been an issue for a few months already and I'm not the first to complain.

edit: seems to be fixed with a recent update. now the app is great, functions as intended and is less confusing than using a browser on mobile. Love the website, app just gives a blank white screen. Tried clearing cache and data, reinstalling, can't get the app to work. Android 14 on s22+

Courses are nice, but the entirety of the app has turned into a greedy cash-grab in recent times. You need a pro membership for every useful course on the app, and the only courses that are free are pretty much courses that teach you the rules of the game and/or teach how to develop your pieces in the opening. You are not even able to learn specific openings like you used to be able to. The app is only worth getting if you are new to chess and want to get a grasp on the basic ideas.

(New!) Analysis Board: For the first time ever, you can launch Stockfish-powered analysis directly in the app. It loads the exact position you’re studying. Just tap and analyze.
Folder Review: PRO users now have the option to review just the variations stored in custom folders. Create folders for your White repertoire, Black repertoire, endgames, or anything you want to focus on.
