About this app

AntennaPod is a podcast manager and player that gives you instant access to millions of free and paid podcasts, from independent podcasters to large publishing houses such as the BBC, NPR and CNN. Add, import and export their feeds hassle-free using the Apple Podcasts database, OPML files or simple RSS URLs.
Download, stream or queue episodes and enjoy them the way you like with adjustable playback speeds, chapter support and a sleep timer.
Save effort, battery power and mobile data usage with powerful automation controls for downloading episodes (specify times, intervals and WiFi networks) and deleting episodes (based on your favourites and delay settings).

Made by podcast-enthusiasts, AntennaPod is free in all senses of the word: open source, no costs, no ads.

Import, organize and play
• Manage playback from anywhere: homescreen widget, system notification and earplug and bluetooth controls
• Add and import feeds via the Apple Podcasts, gPodder.net, fyyd or Podcast Index directories, OPML files and RSS or Atom links
• Enjoy listening your way with adjustable playback speed, chapter support, remembered playback position and an advanced sleep timer (shake to reset, lower volume)
• Access password-protected feeds and episodes

Keep track, share & appreciate
• Keep track of the best of the best by marking episodes as favourites
• Find that one episode through the playback history or by searching titles and shownotes
• Share episodes and feeds through advanced social media and email options, the gPodder.net services and via OPML export

Control the system
• Take control over automated downloading: choose feeds, exclude mobile networks, select specific WiFi networks, require the phone to be charging and set times or intervals
• Manage storage by setting the amount of cached episodes, smart deletion and selecting your preferred location
• Adapt to your environment using the light and dark theme
• Back-up your subscriptions with the gPodder.net integration and OPML export

Absolute best way I've found to listen to my favorite podcasts. I have a commute where there is no cell reception so if I want to listen to anything on my way to work it needs to be locally downloaded on my phone and I always ran into issues with downloads disappearing or getting corrupted and unplayable in other apps. Luckily, I've seldomly ran into any issues with downloading my podcasts on this app and would highly recommend it because of that.

I switched from Podcast Addict to this because the layout of the app and organization of the podcasts is much better. I find it easier to browse and search. But a few big downsides: The Play button doesn't work in the media player of Android's notification drawer if the app has been inactive for a while, and I don't get notified when new podcasts arrive even though notifications are on & auto refresh is enabled. Their site had no solutions, but PodAddict & other media apps don't have this issue.

Hi, thanks for the review! Playback notifications not working is annoying. We don't say that this cannot be fixed, but that it's hard to find the cause of this issue and that Google's apps are also affected. For the notifications; we haven't heard other reports of this. Can you check in Settings › Downloads › Refresh podcasts if it's enabled?

I like supporting projects like this and was surprised to find this amazing podcast app. First the good, unlike most apps that want shared links and podcasts to bring you back to them; this app allows multiple ways to share episodes, including just the media file itself. Awesome! Now the could be better. The app currently only allows an inbox for subscripted podcasts and a queue to pay them. Once this app evolves to allow actual playlists, and even better smart playlists there will be no rival.
