Lumo by Proton

It's okay but I'm somewhat disappointed that this is just a frame of the web version. It can't generate images and you can't directly send photos from your camera without going into your camera app, taking a photo, opening Lumo again, opening the selection menu, and finding the photo. Right now it's very barebones and I wouldn't recommend it. Please Proton, make this review outdated.

Good start. Coming from Google's Gemini, this is nowhere close. Doesn't talk to you with voice. The responses are fairly rudimentary. Doesn't really search the web well for complex questions. Like I asked it to tell me about Euro Basket 2025 and it could not, asked me to search web. But I like the privacy feature and I'm a big Proton fan. So I'll give it 4 stars even though it's probably worth lower hoping that they really really improve the AI models, add text to speech (Lumo talks to me).

Poor AI compared to the competition. Slower, less effective, more dumb. After being told off for missing out half the European countries when asking for a comparison across the continent, it then continued to make the same mistake. I love Proton's mission but this AI has a long way to go before it's anywhere near ChatGPT/Grok etc.
