HOW DOES MULLVAD VPN WORK?
With Mullvad VPN, your traffic travels through an encrypted tunnel to one of our VPN servers and then onward to the website you are visiting. In this way, websites will only see our server’s identity instead of yours. Same goes for your ISP (internet service provider); they’ll see that you’re connected to Mullvad, but not your activity.
It also means that all the third-party actors with technology integrated into the various websites you visit can’t sniff out your IP address and use it to track you from one site to another.

Using a trustworthy VPN is a great first step to reclaim your privacy online. In combination with Mullvad Browser you make sure to block third-party cookies and other tracking technologies.

FREE THE INTERNET FROM MASS SURVEILLANCE AND DATA COLLECTION
A free and open society is a society where people have the right to privacy. That’s why we fight for a free internet.
Free from mass surveillance and censorship. Free from big data markets where your personal information is up for sale. Free from authorities mass monitoring every click you make. Free from an infrastructure mapping your whole life. Mullvad VPN and Mullvad Browser is our contribution to the fight.

TELEMETRY AND CRASH REPORTS
The app collects a very minimal amount of telemetry, and it does not in any way tie it to an account number, IP or other identifiable information. Account numbers are used for authentication. App logs are never sent automatically but are rather explicitly sent by the user. App version checks are performed every 24 hours to tell the app if there are any upgrades available and if the currently running version is still supported.

If the split tunneling feature is used, then the app queries your system for a list of all installed applications. This list is only retrieved in the split tunneling view. The list of installed applications is never sent from the device.

This is my favorite VPN to ever exist. We had some struggles at first, especially concerning campus wi-fi not making it very easy to grab this thing, but in the end, we got it working. My only gripe is that there are no instructions on the website for people on Linux distributions using rpm-ostree (like me, who uses Bazzite, which is based on Fedora Kinoite). The app is still fully functional regardless. Edit: I wish there was a way to permanently split tunnel an app on Linux.

Thanks for your kind review! I've also relayed your request for us to support rpm-ostree internally. Edit: Some extra details can now be found on our website: https://mullvad.net/en/help/install-mullvad-app-linux#unsupported-dists

Used it for roughly a year without a hiccup but recently shadowsocks started getting blocked by many providers. New pc update fixed it with a new obfs algorithm so I would really like to see it on a phone before my subscription runs out and I will have to switch. update getting the GitHub build with new features solved the issue. peak Performance as always. just wish finding and getting it was easier.

Most everything is great except that it keeps giving "Disconnected" notifications. I swipe them away and they come back randomly. It just so happens that when they come back. Please make the "Disconnected" and "Connected" notifications separate so we can disable one without the other. Or a way to turn them off in app. Also, the quick-tile doesn't work properly. It doesn't stay in sync with the app.

Thank you for your feedback. We are in the processing of reworking some parts of how our app notifications work, and will take your suggestion into consideration.

What's new

- Added QUIC obfuscation.
- The behavior of Quantum-resistant tunnel Automatic has changed from "off" to "on".
